In 2011, Grace quit her job to take time and relax in her hometown, Naic. Grace loves a good cup of coffee to de-stress but she had enough of instant coffee at home, fast food coffee, overpriced coffee chains and the stale coffee bought at the grocery store. Where to find a satisfying cup in this town?
Back in 2011, there was no coffee shop in Naic. Naic being a first class municipality in the province of Cavite, and Cavite being one of the top coffee producers in the Philippines, it was quite surprising. Really.
At the tender age of 24, Grace had her Aha! moment. She rented a small space with a narrow door opening.
Opened in February 2012, Coffeeta started off with a small range of coffee and limited food choices. With a very low starting budget, the result wasn't as fruitful as Grace fancied in the first year. She then understood why nobody attempted to start what she started before she started in this town. But it did not stop there. The challenge was accepted. Grace worked hands-on and continued to learn more about coffee, food, equipment, management and people − one step at a time.
Today, Coffeeta is a humble coffee shop where friends meet to enjoy and share coffee and food. It is the meeting place in Naic for family, friends, business associates and couples − in short, a place for everyone. Optimistically speaking, we take advantage of the small space to meet new friends. Say hi to the nice stranger sitting right next to your table, close enough to shake hands and have a chat. Or, have your "emo" moment alone and just listen to the music or grab a book sitting on the shelf waiting to be read. Coffeeta is also a temporary study venue, where discussions take place. Reading, daydreaming, discussing and chit-chatting encouraged.
As one of the most known meeting place in Naic, Coffeeta has been providing the freshest coffee and the most fresh, inexpensive and nutritious food and drinks in Naic for the last 4 years, and continues to do so for an increasing number of customers daily.
